Cannot send a private message

I'm trying to reply to a Private Message but this error occurs. I have tried sending a new Private Message and receive the same.

If you have any inequalities ( < or > ) in your message, make sure to put a space around them.

There was, but it was in the quote from the original sender. Since that got to me, I didn't think it would be an issue there. Thanks!
