    Reporting Threads/Posts

I often find many spam threads when I log on. If they haven't already been reported, I report them.

BUT, if you want to do more than one, you then get a message that you have to wait 60 seconds between reports.

    WHY?

Surely you want these threads to be reported as soon as possible. If there needs to be a delay between successive Reporting of posts, why not reduce the time to 20 or 30 seconds?

Also, why not encourage all contributors to report such posts by giving rep each time they do so and the thread is removed?

    Re: Reporting Threads/Posts

Whilst I am grateful to those of you who bother, we really don't need SPAM posts reporting, to be honest - moderators can see them without the need for other members to point them out. I always deal with whatever SPAM posts are there when I log on. I then trawl through all the reported post threads and mark them as solved: that's the bit that is onerous and unnecessary to me, but I have to do it, so by reporting every single SPAM post you see, you are quite inadvertently doubling my workload.

Rewarding rep points would not, in my view, make any difference. You would continue to report and other members would continue to fail to realise that they could or even to bother.

I would prefer it if reported posts were about anything other than what is very obviously SPAM.
