    New Users

    Hello all,

I have noticed that many new users don't attach a sample file to their initial posts. I believe it is very useful to have a sample file for understanding of the application and for testing any macros or formulas needed.

Perhaps a welcome message solving this inadequacy will aid future posts.

    My 2 cents,

The yellow banner at the top of the page (maybe you haven't seen it?) was put in place recently for precisely this reason.

    Thread moved to correct sub-forum.

Yes I am aware of that but it seems that too many new threads are lacking this and are difficult to understand their applications. Maybe a better emphasis needs to be enforced?

    Re: New Users

The number of newbies providing workbooks without having to be asked has increased considerably since the banner was put in place.

Let's be very clear about this: there is no rule that says any member MUST provide a workbook, indeed we cannot force them to do so. However, we know it helps. What I suggest you do in cases where one is not provided is do as many of us do and simply point out the banner at the top. You could always keep a little canned message ready on your machine to copy and paste in.
