Cannot attach file to PM even after clicking Go Advanced ?

Forgive me if this is "old news". Couldn't find a similar comment using Advanced Search.

I do not see any way to attach a file to a PM, even clicking Go Advanced.

Is that not allowed?

Or do I just have blinders on?

No, the forum software doesn't allow you to attach a file to a PM - it is meant for messages! You can include links, though, so you could link to a thread which contains a file.

Thanks for the confirmation. Thought as much. And yup, that was the alternative that I suggested to the user.

He wanted to provide an Excel file with data that is too sensitive to make public by attaching it to a thread -- a common use for private messages in other forums.
