Exclamation Newish member cannot use "At sign" in post

While trying to post a new thread in General Excel I kept being blocked from previewing my post. The error message was: "You are not allowed to post any kinds of links, images or videos until you post a few times." I whittled down the text of the post until I thought I discovered the cause, which was a formula. Even with CODE tags it triggered the error. Later, though, I discovered that the real cause was my using an "At sign" in the text. That seems awfully restrictive because some formulas use this symbol.

Put a space in front of the @ sign and another after as I have done here.

Thank you for replying but when I try an "At Sign" with spaces on both sides it is still rejected as a link, image or video.

I don't understand your point. If I type an "At sign" symbol, which I just did - with a space on either side, and click Preview Post it will be blocked by the error, which it just did. I'd include a screen recording but I am also blocked from including them.

To submit this I had to replace the "At sign" with its formal name.

Now that you have 10 posts, you should not have an issue with the @ sign. It is a built in function to prevent spammers from posting. Once you have 10 posts you should have no issues.

Well that's @ relief! Thank you for pointing this out.
