Why can I change my time zone but not my date format?

Why can't I change my preferred date format? I'm sure it used to be localised.

It's driving me potty, out of interest, why is the mm-dd-yyyy format default - is vBulletin american? This is one of the least popular date formats in the world, see below:

    From here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country

    Pink is mm/dd/yyyy

Please can we have an option to change the way dates display?

Yes, VBulletin is owned by Internet Brands, Inc., based in California (which is itself owned by Hellman & Friedman, LLC, a private equity firm in the U.S. and U.K.)

Based on what I've read on the VB manual website (https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/), you can set the default date format at the site (or perhaps forum) level, but not per user. Not having a VB site of my own, or admin access into this one, I can't say for sure. I'm pretty sure there are add-ons that can allow this functionality though.
