Replying to a thread/post

Good morning all,

First off - this issue may just be me not paying attention!!

When i reply to a post using the quick reply box at the bottom, i am forever clicking the flippin 'Reply to Thread' button just above the quick reply box, which then deletes any text written.

As i said, i dont know if its just me not paying attention but the button is often confusing when replying to a post, especially when time is in short supply.
Could it be moved? could the coding be changed to not delet the text alreay written? could the code be changed so that if the text area is not empty then it will actually save your reply instead of deleting it?

Again, not the end of the world

You do not need to click the Reply to thread button if you are directly typing in the Post quick reply box.

Just enter your text and then click the Post quick reply button below the box.

However, if you want to quote the text given in many of the earlier posts in the thread and then give a combined reply, you can click on "Reply with Quote" on all those posts and then click the "+Reply to Thread" button. That will bring all the selected posts as quotes in your post.
If I have helped, Don't forget to add to my reputation (click on the star below the post)
Don't forget to mark threads as "Solved" (Thread Tools->Mark thread as Solved)
Use code tags when posting your VBA code:
Your code here
Hi Arlu,

I understand how it works, my point is that its a touch misleading (for me anyway), as i type this, just above my text box is the big 'Reply to Thread' button, which even while i type i have to think about not clicking it :D, where i should actually be clicking the smaller 'Post Quick Reply' button underneath the text box

That is the default option in vbulletin to have the button there.

You can click on it before typing in the matter in the Quick Reply box. It will bring you to the quick reply box itself.
