Whyyyyyyy can't you attach files in a private message?

So... WHY. Maybe I'm missing something and have just overlooked the attach icon, but as far as I know, you can't attach files in a PM. And that's dumb. I'm helping someone in a thread and they have exclusive information in their file that they don't want to post to the thread. So they said they'd PM me, but they cant attach the file. Sure, it's an alternative to just email the person, but, in my opinion, it would be easier to add that in. And maybe to keep everyone from sending their files to the moderators and such, a rule could be included where you can't send the files without being friends first. Idk. Just an idea. I wasn't expecting this.

Ideally, users shouldnt send files and post solutions via PM. Everything about the thread should be discussed in the thread. If the user has sensitive data, he should make a dummy of the file which matches the original file exactly in terms of layout and number of columns, kind of data variations, etc.

Makes sense, and I agree. Which is what he/she did. But apparently, this dummy file was nothing like the actual file, and the OP doesn't know how to edit to code to fit his/her file. And he/she won't post a sample workbook that resembles the original one either. So...email I guess? Idk.

Yeah. Probably. But I have no intentions of disclosing that info to anyone.
