question for forum admin people

    Hi Team,

firstly, thanks for all the work you guys do (don't panic, in my world "guys" is a very NON gender specific term)

SO... I am in OZ (Australia) and therefore clearly in a different time zone to most of the forum participants.

I am wondering if the forum could display the current "forum time" at forum HQ somewhere in the top few lines of the forum

Just a "idle" question / request

Re: question for forum admin people

I believe the servver is based in India, but like Martin said, we have people from around the world, including USA, UK, South Africa, OZ just to mention a few (in fact I love looking at the locations, just to see how truly international this forum really is!!)

I know you said this was "Just a "idle" question / request", out of curiosity, what would that serve?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

The server is incorrectly set up, it needs a setting changing so that each person accessing it see's their local time, it can also be done in the vbulletin software.

I see my correct local time, but don't think that was the question.

Re: question for forum admin people

@fdibbins, when I sign into the forum, like all of us, i see the latest posts along with post times but until I actually reply to a thread or post a new thread i have no idea whether they are from seconds ago or hours ago so if somewhere up near the paging controls or even further up near the date the current "forum time" was displayed it would be useful.

As I said in my original post, just out of idle curiosity really

And like you, I enjoy seeing where the posters are from (or at least where they say they are from, have my doubts about the "accuracy" of a number of locations

While it may be "off topic" I am also amazed that there are not many more flame wars on the forums from skilled volunteers that are clearly being taken advantage of by users who clearly don't even bother to read or try to understand the solution code they are given (and there are a few regular offenders in that camp as well)

anyway, enough of the rants Again, hats off the many many skilled volunteers who assist us less skilled users

I know this is "solved", but to jmac, thank you for the kind words, for me (and I know for many others), that is 1 of the things that make it worth while to spend time here.

As for being taken advantage of...Im sure we can often tell when that happens, and for myself, I will, more often than not, just bow out gracefully and move on to more "appreciative" grounds

Re: question for forum admin people

    Hi again,

I unsolved this thread temporarily to simply say that I am now off to the optician to get my glasses renewed

The answer was there all the time, in the very fine print at the very bottom of the page along with the usual copyright stuff

when all else fails.... read the manual (or something like that expression

    sorry to waste peoples time

    Jmac

    Cheers
