Could have accidentally hit F12?
That, I guess is possible as I just tried that and the same window opened. It would be unusual for me to have my hands in that area of the keyboard while browsing though. My usual thing is to have my right hand on the mouse and the left hand in the "home" position on the keyboard.
I will take that as the answer though as no other reasonable explanation comes to mind as to how an equivalent to F12 could have been activated.
