    Posting Tables in Forum Threads

I find the table function via taskbar to be a pain.

How do some of you post such long tables in posts
    like Tony here
    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...ank-cells.html
    or SHG here
    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...-of-times.html
Is there a tricck to it?
    Thanks in advance

Re: Posting Tables in Forum Threads

    It's done through VBA.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/suggestion...-and-data.html

and the Excel add-in at the following link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/31r9s6t9j6...ools.xlam?dl=0

EDIT: the add-in was found at Rory's website (http://excelmatters.com/excel-forums/) and contains code from a number of EF contributors, incl mlcb and shg from the above thread.

    Cheers,

Re: Posting Tables in Forum Threads

I managed to zip the file that Ford uses (I use that too) by using Window's compressed folders feature. I think that the install involves unzipping then double clicking the decompressed file. Then in Excel options, Add-ins, Select Excel Addins at the bottom of the window, click GO and then select the Excel RangeToBBCode V0.2.xlam.

    I hope this helps.
It is a rather useful tool. I think that the authors are listed in the code and thank you very much to all who developed this.

The ExcelForum should have an area with such utilities for use in EF ready for download so that one doesn't have to go searching.
