Clarification on Forum Rule 7b. - Do not reply with open moderator action request

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to the forum and wanted some clarification on rule 7b.

"Do not post a reply in a thread where a moderation request (e.g., title change, code tags) is still pending a response. - This applies to the original post and all participants within the thread."

Occasionally I see a moderator post requesting the OP change their thread name etc... Will this moderator post be gone if the request is closed? How can I be sure the thread name has been changed and is now ready for a reply?

Sometimes, sometimes not. Depends on the mod.

Sometimes you can see that the original post title is different from some of the other reply titles.

The only way to be completely "safe" is to just avoid those kinds of threads. If you see a mod request just move along.

….you could reply, saying you will reply ( more ) if they take the requested action. Seemed to work sometimes with me..


.. As for the title change…That’s easy isn’t it ?.... you see the original title at the top of all Posts, EXCEPT The first, where typically the OP makes the change. ( Not sure what happens if he makes the change in a later Posts ). So usually you just compare the Thread title ( and that in the first Post ) – ( these would be the same always I think following that last bit of logic..) with the title at the top of the next posts…

I see what you mean. I never noticed the thread titles being different at the top of each post! That makes it a lot easier.

_ Probably this is the "Time Limit thing" and you will need to additionally ask a Moderator ( Through the Report Button ) to change the actual Main Thread Title....

Based On selection: Copying , Adjusting, Reordering Rows & Columns from Tables, then Paste
Original Title ( still seen in Forum Listing):
copy entire column instead of rows

You can always check if the OP's post is edited and editing time is later than moderators request then you know that the OP did make changes to the thread but it if that's sufficient to the moderator is another question,

To change the title of the thread, EDIT post #1, the GO ADVANCED.
