    MrExcel under attack?

Just logged into MrExcel, and it looks like they are either being spammed to heck and back, or under some sort of attack

yeah it looks like they are being targeted

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve seen a huge increase in attacks on WordPress websites from automated bot-nets.

Whenever there's a big sporting event, we get a lot of spam posted for online streaming of the event - I reckon I deleted about 60 posts yesterday myself. It's annoying as hell, and obviously harder to keep up with at weekends, but I'm not sure I consider it an 'attack' per se. The last thing they want is to disable the forum.

    Re: MrExcel under attack?

Just checked MrExcel board and it is fine and I found nothing unusual. However, our forum has been blocked by at least two major US banks and blocked for a while. When attempt to access the message says that "this site distributes viruses". The MrExcel site is always accessible. Can there anything be done to fix this?

    BTW.
. The Excel Forum is regularly inaccessible, I have never experienced that with MrExcel
. The Excel Forum seemed to be playing up big time last week , being inaccessible
.. and encouraging duplicate posting, that is to say a double identical reply, which I saw a lot.

. I guess MrExcel is more "Targeted" by attacks then ExcelForum as it moves a lot quicker / has a lot more traffic so..
a ) Better chance for the Spamming to go missed (- I have sometimes reported spam there that has been there days..)
b ) More attractive generally for "advertising" due to more people viewing / accessing.

Websense has been blocking this site since early February. It was reported back then and we were told it was being sorted out. Draw your own conclusions from the fact that nothing seems to have changed.
