I think I whined about this before. I don't see why it should be limited to 50. Why no 500 or 1000? Since only text can be sent it can't take up that much space.

Set under Settings -> General Settingsso you can save all of them.Receive Email Notification of new Private Messages
IMHO it should be redesigned because it's so ugly but it can serve the purpose
What?
100?
I'm jealous
Mine says:
Inbox contains 35 messages. You have 40 messages stored, of a total 70 allowed
Best Regards,
Kaper
Strange, I was wondering if there was a factor behind the limit such as your membership duration, or user level (contributors get 50, moderators get 500 for example), but considering Jacc has been on for longer than me, and both Jacc and Kaper have a higher user status / level, and higher post count, then this cannot be true.
maybe it's just decided by some random excel formula
Mailbox.Message.Limit =FLOOR(MOD("user birth date"-1,100)+1,10)
Well, I joined less than 2 years ago, may be I'll be promoted to "100 capacity" category some day :-P
I my limit is actually 70 but I thought that was something I got last time I brought up this question, the original limit was 50.
Smart workaround, zbor! I'll consider creating a new e-mail address to just recieve and store the Excelforum PM's.
Still the original question remains, why couldn't the inbox limit be 700 instead of 70? Since it's only text I can't imagine it will put a significant load on the storage space on the servers. A couple of large posted workbooks will equal that.
I'm allowed 100

Good luck with 700, hehe. I have an Admin account and that maxes at 300.
I clear most of my PMs about once a month or so.

I have a limit of 100, and generally it is full - I only clear it a bit on rare occasions.
However, I have found that if Mods and/or Admins send me PMs then they can exceed this limit, so there was one point in time when I had a total of 104 messages in the inbox.

I clear mine regularly to keep the max size below 100...suggest you do the same.
