I see things have not improved much here....

Servers still crashing I see. I managed to make a few triple posts today. Still having problems?

You to FD, been snowed at work though. Just did not have the energy to post. It is great to comeback and help someone with a problem, even though I still need help myself sometimes.

JD, I just posted to that thread with out a problem. I must say that of late, I have noticed that VBUL doesnt seem to like the > or < signs if used together, could that be the problem?

Can you post here and I can try and copy it to there?

Re: I see things have not improved much here....

It won't let me post even short code WITHOUT code tags.

Edit: I took out the symbol you suggested. And I was able to post.

But does me no good as the code below is now incorrect because I need the greater than symbol in front of TODAY

Please Login or Register to view this content.

EDIT 2: This is the entire code without the symbol.

Please Login or Register to view this content.
But it will let me post "<" here, but not in code.

    Hi Dave,

    Happy New Year.

I've also had problems recently with the angle brackets - try it with a space either side of the symbol.

    Hope this helps.

Re: I see things have not improved much here....

If it is like some other sites you only need the space after the < symbol (and claimed only if followed by a non-numeric character but I have never tested this).
A bit strange though as I thought it only happened when Html was allowed but obviously not.

It should only apply to the < symbol and not the > symbol.
If my solution worked (or not) please let me know. If your question is answered then please remember to mark it solved

Re: I see things have not improved much here....

    @ JapanDave
Just lurked in passing this Thread.... so Just a minor bit of passing Info...

The problem you had ( with < ) is probably one of the strange combinations of characters that the Scurri Security thing blocks ( and typically says something about a HTML problem, as you experienced ).
It Comes up a lot, for example:

    http://www.excelforum.com/the-water-...ml#post4226385
    http://www.excelforum.com/suggestion...xcelforum.html
( and I expect like many of ExcelForum’s problems it has been here ages, long before my time...I just lurked a few old threads from 4 years ago! Seen a few problems I thought were just in the last year or so......

    http://www.excelforum.com/the-water-...ml#post2700282
    .........-
    -)

    _.....................................................
    Anyways,
    In your particular case
it appears the “magic” combination that cause the problem is a combination of a < and 4 characters . These characters can be any combination of numbers and "normal" characters.
A space after the < will cure it and also:.......

_(i) A Space anywhere in the 5 character total
    < Today
    <T oday
    <To day
    <Tod ay

    <123 4
    < 1234
    <1 234
    <12 34
    <123 4

    or
_(ii) an "unusual character", for example % & * etc. – The [ is a good one to consider..
    <Tod[ay

That last one leading to the "Black Colour Trick"
    <Today
-this one above was made to look in the Forum Editor as
    <Tod[COLOR="#000000"]a[/COLOR]y
    Or
    <Tod[COLOR=black]a[/COLOR]y

In other words i made the colour of __a__ black
    http://www.excelforum.com/suggestion...ml#post4295096

_ - the “space trick” is good in a code window, - as when you copy the code to a VB Editor Code Window the VB Editor will usually take the space out.
_ - the “black colour trick” is the one to go for if you want to show and allow to be copied something exactly as you have it in the Forum Editor.. – as when your copy, you just get what you see, not the BB Code bit that makes the black colour.

Just a bit passing info, may help in the future..
