Why don't links to Excel Forum work in Office 2016?

    Hi all-
I've been using and contributing to Excel Forums for about 2 months. When I download a workbook to examine, it seems logical to paste a link to the associated thread right in that workbook. Problem is, when I later click on the link, I get this:Untitled.png
I tried pasting in Word and got the same error message. I tried typing it in, same thing. Then I tried it on ANOTHER computer - also Office 2016, but different anti-virus/security protocols and programs AND a different browser. SAME RESULT! What's up with this???? Any thoughts or observations?

Re: Why don't links to Excel Forum work in Office 2016?

Well, I found a solution. Turns out Office programs attempt to access links first before forwarding the URL to your browser to load the web page. If the website returns a code for that URL that APPEARS to be an error, Word or Excel just refuse to load it, without actually forwarding it.
