Question "Can I become an expert in Excel in three weeks?"

A thread that came up on a general-purpose discussion board I am a member of. He's willing to spend as much as 2 hours a day for three weeks to gain advanced mastery of Excel. How should he best go about this?

To become an expert in Excel in three weeks spending 2 hours a day?
I guess, one would have to be an exceptionally fast learner, someone who posses photographic memory, logical thinking and most of all imagination. Otherwise forgetaboutit.

I learnt Excel and VBA in two days, so yeah its possible.

It was the 5 years prior to that , using and experimenting with VBA's that got me.

VBA is like Go. You can learn it enough to play very quickly but it takes years to master and some never do.

Years ago, I got asked by some guy that worked in the same company that I did - hey, can I come round at about 3 today (I finished at 4) and you can teach me all about excel and "all that stuff"

    xladept,
Snb strikes me as being pretty far up there. He'd be my no 1 pick on here for a particularly high IQ. Although I wouldn't be surprised if high IQ are ridiculously over represented here. (actually I know it for a fact.. heh..)

@ scottiex - I can't, for the life of me, get what snb does with index - but then I hit the bell curve on the downslope and it's been downhill ever since!

@ Dave - How very appropriate!

i think everyone's learning styles (and starting level) are different - it would be pretty hard to get it right from a distance.
he could just play around with sheets like this one

for staters and scroll though this forum and try to do the things we do (that's how I learn! ).
