General Advice

Hi All, not a question in itself, just wondered if someone could take a quick look at something I'm developing. I'm still a relative novice at this but I am trying to learn and have got a workbook set-up with long formulas, I'm just wondering whether it could have been done any better?

Basically its a prediction league (just for fun), people have given me their predictions of where teams will finish. If they get a team spot on they get 3 points, in the predicted zone (automatic promotion, play-offs or relegation) they get 2 points, in the adjacent zone 1 point. If their prediction is in the totla opposite Zone, top eight, bottom 4, their score is reduced by 5.

Anyway, I've sorted it, long formula, I'm guessing there was an easier way so that's what I'm asking? Always looking to learn.

I'm attaching what I've done so far, just got to enter others predictions (will make multiple copies of the already filled in page) and fill in the tables page four times in the season. I'll also create a results page to put people in order which I know how to do using LOOKUP.

That's very interesting and a much shorter formula, I'm going to have to study it as I don't understand..... yet.

On sheet 1 you have Oxford & Peterborough showing -5 yet neither were in the one prediction, I just wrote down 10 teams to see if the formula worked. The actual teams that will be entered on the tables page will only be known at the end of September.

Finding IFERROR useful for tidying up purposes on other worksheets, so thanks for that.
