unclear meaning of a frase in a task

Hi,
my dauther stucks with:
In the reporting the average price increased by 3.8%. The everage change of prices is +5.4%. Find the change of average price as a result of proportions in sales form. What does bold text mean?

Many members search our previous posts, and thread titles play a big part of the search. I doubt anybody would do a search based on your title?

What grade is your daughter in? That would give us a hint on how complicated the answer needs to be.

I'd bet about 10th grade? I'd look in her text book and see how the book defines Proportions, and see if they have 2 or 3 different forms for the equation.

Is it x/5 = 25/100 form or
x * 100 = 5 * 25 ?

It also might be something like

3.8/(3.8+5.4) or some such ratio formula.

Is there some data to go with the question?
