    Need help with transactional software

I am not expecting, though i would be pleased, to find answers here, as this is the worlds best excel forum, but i am hoping maybe there is over lap, maybe somebody knows somebody, or knows somebody who knows somebody....

I am trying to create and it doesnt have to be from scratch, if there is something off the shelf, software that will let retailers accept and consumers sign up for and use a reusable coupon, a digital coin, a "bitcoin" style transaction, though it will be retailer-centric. so basically i need to create a duplicate credit card system. I have no idea where to start. i tried going tostack overflow, as some folks seem to think it is for programing what this place is for excel, except i cant seem to even ask a question there.

any help, of any sort would be greatly appreciated. oh, and as these are more reusable coupons than cash, unlike bitcoin, the security does not need to be near as high.

Though I don't really get your requirement... or use-case scenario.
Most POS will have some feature for coupons.

Try below Opensource POS and see if any will fit your need. Other than that, you'll probably need to program it your self. Starting from some database design and php or something else to submit and retrieve info from it.

    Hey uplandpoet,

I'm thinking I buy Starbucks coffee every day using there system. They must have a huge database that does transactions. I need to refill my Starbucks account with money before I can use it. Are you thinking about something like that.

I pay bills using my bank Bill Pay website. Is this closer to what you are thinking?

On my phone or computer I can buy Apps from the store and I believe it takes money out of my account. Is this what you are asking to do?

Thank you! I want to createa system where a customer can walk into a coffee shop, or pizza place or a dry cleaners or wherever there is a retailer who accepts our new digital coin/reusable transferrable coupon, swipe a QR code and they in their email address and a password and be signed up, recieve a few coins, and be able to transfer them out of their new account into the retailers accoubt for a discount or "free" secondary purchase. the retailer can then either use them to buy something they need, or more likely, issue them out to their employees, or even their customers as a bonus. The customers can also take these coins to retailers other than the one they signed up with and use them at any participating retailer. so basically, we need to recreate a credit card sytem, but the currency will not be money.
