SPam threads

Why do we get so much spam threads? It seems to be happening more and more all the time.

Re: SPam threads

We are not getting anymore than we ever have - you just happened to have visited the forum when none of the moderators happened to be on hand to get rid of it. That will happen from time to time - remember, we are all volunteers!

Thread moved to the appropriate section.

Re: SPam threads

I was a forum moderator for several years here the question is not about the moderators.

I started the thread in the "Suggestions for Improvement" forum, for a reason. There should be better security measures taken so all this spam does not happen. Is it actually bots that are opening accounts?

Re: SPam threads

We have been through this so many times, Dave - everything that we can do has been done. There are several threads on it already.

Your opening post is not a suggestion - it's a question. If you think there is something that can be done to make things better, bearing in mind that there is nothing that mods and admins can do without the tech team's help, then by all means suggest it. Bear in mind also that the tech team rarely engages with any of the issues we present to them.

Re: SPam threads

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Ali here (not unfortunate that I agree with her, unfortunate about being able to do much).

I have made requests to them regarding a few different ways to help reduce spam (block threads with URL's in the title), but I rarely even get a response back
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Regards
Ford

Pepe,
Are you suggesting that you would like to be a moderator?
