    Deleting old posts / atttachments

I'm very eager to have a previous post and attachment deleted.

It contains my full name, contact details and address. Please could a moderator look into this for me?

It shows up in google search results via my mobile number. I would like it to be removed.

    Thank you!

You should be able to edit the thread yourself to remove any or all elements of a specific post. You can't delete the entire thread, and it is rare that this happens.

You can get in touch with a Moderator or Administrator, click on Report Post at the bottom left of a post in either of your threads and tell them what you need.

It looks like you have successfully pruned the posts in the thread, so please mark this thread as solved.

We do not remove entire threads because of their value to the community: this is a public forum, and threads created become part of our 'database' of hints and tips.

Please PM me if there is still an issue.

There is no option to edit the post, I don't mind leaving the rest of the post in tact, I just want the one line of information which contains my personal information removed. It's quite a reasonable request, especially under GDPR ...

Well, let's face it, you put the information up there. Nobody asked you to share it. So you can't really blame anyone else.

On any of YOUR posts within a thread, you have the option to Edit Post. However, if anyone has included your data/images in a reply, you can't edit it.

If it's the sample file in post #5, you should be able to edit that post, as you already have, and remove the attachment.

If it's not that, you need to tell the Moderator exactly what you need removing.

I fully appreciate that it was my own fault for sharing this, however this was almost 6 years ago. I was a lot younger and was not aware that this would be linked to my mobile number through a google search for the world to see. There is NO option to edit the post. I don't know if this is due to the post being over 6 years old or what, but it does not allow me to edit it in any way.

Yes it's the sample file in #5. I have had numerous people search my mobile number on google which directs them to that page with my full name, full address and other contact details. As I said, I was silly for not realizing this may be listed in google. However, as it is my information, and my original data, I should have the right to edit or delete it.

Quite possibly. I've asked for Moderator intervention.

@ RayJay I am not aware of a way for Moderators to selectively alter attachments and reattach.

I may be able to remove the whole attachment though. (There are others in the list.) Is that acceptable?

If "yes" it may take a while. I've not done this before.

EDIT Attachment has been removed by another Moderator.
