    trying to add avatar, getting error on page

    i am trying to add a GIF to my avatar but i can't get it to work.

    it's 40x40 pixels and the size is 16Kb.

    Can someone from the administrators group help out?

    IIRC you can't use animated avatars below a certain user-level.

    The criteria for being able to use an animated avatar is as below :
    ... if a user has been registered for 120 days or more and posted 200 or more posts the are upgraded to Valued Forum Contibutor and can upload both non-animated and animated avatars ...
    Happily you meet these criteria which were set 11 () years ago and have never been updated. Unfortunately, Sucuri wakes up every time one tries to add an avatar from a local device and blocks the access. However, we know from experience that Sucuri carries on snoozing if you attempt to upload the avatar from a url, so, is this image available anywhere online? If so, I, or any other moderator / admin should be able to add it for you without issue.

    Yes, I know you've uploaded it here, which is technically online, but the way the forum stores attachments means it is a ridiculously long url and the forum reports it as invalid, I'm wondering if that's the issue, or if it doesn't like looking within the forum, but surely that shouldn't matter ...

    thanks rorya and dominicb, i was able to upload once i hosted the image on a server.
