FWIW, I keep the classic menu in my QAT by including the Menu Commands item there and using my PERSONAL.XLSB's Workbook_Open to enable it by starting with Application.CommandBars(1).reset, then using .Controls.Add to enable everything. I also delete some entries I don't use.

In Excel 2010 and 2013, I had deleted Tools > Options to replace it with my own redo of a classic (Excel 2003-like) Options dialog. I could still access new Excel options using File > Options from the ribbon. Not in the latest Office Insider build. By deleting the control with ID 522 from the Tools menu, I disabled the Options entry in the ribbon's File tab. Maybe that's a bug, I'll be reporting as one, but it may be intended. Now I just change the caption so it's not "&Options" (because I use that for my own dialog).

Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone else mucks about with Application.CommandBars(1) post Office 2007.
