Yup, there are a couple of threads about it.

Nothing we can do until the tech team takes action - all we can do is tell them (that has been done).
I can open workbooks in Firefox - I get a repair message, but the files open OK when I click YES. On my iPad, Safari won't open anything.
What browser are you using? Maybe try another.

Just downloaded Firefox and tried to open a file, did not work.
That's strange.
I can't open files regardless of whether I use FireFox, Chrome or Edge.
Are we all using Windows 10?
I am............
If I move the files to a trusted location, then I can open them. Which is fine if they xlsx files, but not if they are macro enabled.
@AliGW, I am using Windows 10 version 1909 for x64
@Fluff13, I moved a file to my documents folder, which is where I store Excel file with which I have worked and from which I can still open files. However after moving the new file from the Download to the Document folder it still would not open. Am I missing something?
It may also be a minor point, however it seems that I am not receiving notifications at this time.
It may be worth noting that Alan seems to be able to open files. Looking at this thread (post #5) it seems that Alan is using a 32 bit version of Excel, so perhaps that is at least part of the reason.
