What happened to the Unanswered Threads item in the menu?

Up until sometime today there was a menu item where you could select Unanswered Threads since...Last visit, yesterday, etc.

I don't see it now. If the tech team is going to screw with the site couldn't they at least make one of the improvements we've asked for?

Also the canned answer menu? I could not find it.

Up to yesterday, there was dropdown list of canned answers,i.e: "title", "hijacking", "array formula".
    Now, it 's gone?

Re: What happened to the Unanswered Threads item in the menu?

I just reported a post on this thread:

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-general/1328837-want-tab-name-in-sumproduct-formula-to-be-a-cell-reference-rather-than-hard-coded.html

but the Report Post button has not disappeared (as it used to do).

As well as the UserCP button missing from the top menu when you first login.

Missing stuff and spam ... coincidence? I would guess so, can't really see a link (though I know I’ve reported several 'take me to your admin' threads).

Yes, I know that but it's not really the point. It just makes it difficult to comply with forum rules, especially for new people.

Re: What happened to the Unanswered Threads item in the menu?

I've noticed the last two times that I've logged in that the User CP button and the side menu bar have both been restored on the opening screen, so I suppose that is some progress towards restoring the site to how it was (mind you, they were both reported a couple of weeks ago).

It also looks like members can post URLs in post 1 which allows spam like this to get through

Re: What happened to the Unanswered Threads item in the menu?

They are. They are even beyond the admin's scope, I believe, which is why Ford has to ask the tech team to look into it. It's all very annoying and inconvenient.

When I said Mod CP, I really meant the back end.

Re: What happened to the Unanswered Threads item in the menu?

Perhaps it's time this forum should move to some new Forum software like other large forums have done?
I'm still astonished at the number of posts we get here while working with this out-of-date stuff. That really says a lot about the quality of the answers one gets here
OTOH seeing how this forum is maintained, it's probably just a dream...

I have reported as many of the missing headings as I know of...
    SOLVED
    LOCK
    canned replies

Best response I got AFTER I asked if I was wasting my time reporting anything was...
so any update on getting this...or ANYTHING that I have reported...fixed yet??
or should I not waste my time asking for help any more?

    Raghav, 12:06 AM
I had given it to the development team on that very day

I am just taking an update from them

    Sorry

    12:07 AM
an update in that regard would have helped, instead of me thinking you are just ignoring me

    I blame you, Glenn ...

Joking apart, the one I am sure we can do without reinstating is Arlu's general welcome message, not least because he/she is a phantom member now (not sure he/she ever really existed).

The SPAM is a pain, mostly because of the plethora of first posts containing multiple links. I do think we've been hacked at the back-end, or the tech team has a rogue member!!!

    Thanks for trying, Ford!

Talking about phantom members and the Tech Team in the same posts leads to mental connections ... phantom Tech Team!?

Pretty sure Arlu did exist and was female and, I think, went off to have a child/children (but I might have made that up).

Once only for each SPAMMER you spot. Thanks.

If you report the same thread as another member, it comes through as just one report, so no need to worry about proliferation.

It seems some of the issues have been fixed but Lock link is still not visible in the commercial threads. I am also not sure if OP can find the Appreciate link now.

@Ford Thanks for pushing this. I'm not as prolific a user of the site as others here and don't use all of the functions, but I did find User CP and Unanswered Threads being missing extremely annoying.
    Regards,
    Aardigspook

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
