    Do Hackers rule the world?

So we have now in Israel a big fuss over a large insurance company that was hackered and now held hostage for ransom.
It's terriying to think how easily a company can sink by just having one its employees pressing the wrong link...

How common do you think it is, and have you been exposed to such tragedies, in your own workplace or just been hearing about others who has been a victim ?

    Here is the article:

Do they rule the world? No, but they do seem to have dominion over the foolish and careless.

That said, I have to pass along a co-worker's saying: Insurance is the Special Olympics of the business world. Implying no hacker will ever be disappointed targeting insurance companies.

Guys, I would be on the beach in the far south of Thailand right now, if it wasn't for The Virus. Instead it's cold, dark and damp here. But at least I have your CC details....

On a serious note, I tend to use passwords with 20+ characters and multiple special characters and store them on a PW manager. If that's hacked, I'm finished, but until then...

    Sure. Why not?

Warmly welcome you in the airport/border from a 30 meter distance, and at front gate of quaranteen camp after 14 days.

Re: Do Hackers rule the world?

OK you guys....there is MUCH to learn here. first of all, the russians, 500-1000 miles east of Moscow, are scanning ISP networks all over the world to find security holes. So are people out in Washington state, USA. And these people are seriously rich. They run Censys, but they are hooked into many other things, including a huge real estate company. This hit was on a page of mine 3 times in 1 minute last week. When that happens, it's always a bot, an automated server, scanner or hacker (Paris, France is a common source):

    https://www.ip-tracker.org/locator/i...ys-scanner.com

    the hits:
Please Login or Register to view this content.
oh, and let us not forget facebook's proxy servers, the MILLIONS of them all over the world that visit URLs that are sent between 2 people in private conversation using their fb messenger service, not more than 20 minutes after the link is shared by either party. I run tests on this all the time to see why kind of nonsense goes on in those warehousing towers that those corporate people own. here's another hit from the same site, which has hit it 10 times in 20 days, with different server idents everytime though: https://www.ip-tracker.org/locator/i...n-007.fbsv.net

furthermore, the worst people are making stuff like this:

    Glenn,

the char count and num of symbols mean absolutely nothing if you're not paying attention to your footsteps.

many insurance people the world over are very uninformed when it comes to technology and software ANYTHING. they're not supposed to know anything. they run on greed. they're serious money makers, especially when insuring corporate ANYTHING. they screw corporate people just like corporate people manipulate idol-worshiping consumers who only want to be rich and give no effort to get there like the corporate people do. =(

On a side note (and slightly off-topic), I have twice received emails stating that they hacked my camera and saw me doing "naughty things" while browsing "those" site, and that they were going to post the recordings they made of me, so all my friends and coworkers unless I coughed up x-amount of bitcoins

What made it so hilarious is that I dont even have a web cam hooked up!!

LOL! I don't get those anymore for some reason. here's what to avoid, Dibbins:

    https://www.blockchain.com/btc/addre...8mGSdzaAtNbBWX

blockchain people are criminals. 95% of them. The only person, a smart man, that I've ever talked to who is not a criminal but does invest in crypto platforms, is this man:

    https://www.linkedin.com/in/james-eric-lane/

He won't mind me showing his name.

I get connection req's on LinkedIn for many months from bitcoin people and all other kinds of crypto people all across the world. and they are immediately detectable. here's some of the phrases that give them away:

    • "hey Adams"
    • hey bro
    • I can make you very happy
    • work position title with ""blockain.com"" in it
    • work position title with ""bitcoin"" it in
    • ""account manager - coinbase.com""
    • anyone who has a huge smile on their face that works with cryptocurrency
    • ""hello dear friend""

by the way, are you guys aware that, because Zuckerburg runs the most low quality website on the internet, his paranoia about being watch apparently results in him putting tape over his webcam when he's in his office!? LOL. see here:

Au contraire, mon ami. It's what unintelligent people do when they can't comprehend the subtleties of a situation. An intelligent person will understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

it was a joke, mrs. authority figure. let me rephrase:
a leader of a large organization does that when he's addressing the crowd and giving them inspiration to do well

Re: Do Hackers rule the world?

why would I? I protect myself so incredibly well, no one could possibly get into my networks. You guys probably don't know that there are companies all around the world looking out for you and everyone else. for instance, there is a russian firm 1000 miles east of moscow that runs 10 scanners a day to search for holes in ISP networks all over the world. I see hits from their servers all the time on many of my sites.

by the way, I know you were joking molly.
