    firefox library?

i don't think there is one, is there? these folks are getting FF using script host:

    https://excel-macro.tutorialhorizon....crosoft-excel/

these folks say that internet controls and shell controls will do it, but yet they are using IE, not FF:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-5-firefox-tab

and these folks are saying in a round a bout way, you can't do it:

    https://www.devhut.net/2018/02/01/vb...irefox-chrome/

thus, they are using the CMD. is there a way folks? has MS given us anything? or did the mozilla folks?

    Maybe this: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to...-and-selenium/

And this, a long time ago recommends Selenium too: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/967650

    Re: firefox library?

the mozilla links says the same as the other. ff is not COM. IE is. here are the breadcrumbs:

    https://code.google.com/archive/p/selenium-vba/

    http://florentbr.github.io/SeleniumBasic/

    https://github.com/florentbr/Seleniu...s/tag/v2.0.9.0

I will DL it, but I rarely do anything with junk on GH. you ever used the package yourself? I helped someone else weeks ago with the selenium concept. he was in the used car business, posting a question here:

    Re: firefox library?

No, never used it. It's your question, I just tried to offer some "helpful" links. I've never wanted or needed to automate a browser.

    So, with that, I’m out.

    Re: firefox library?

Well that's understandable thanks much. If you want to know I'm automating the browser because I don't use mobile apps most of them have no features that I have any interest in and obviously that means I'm a unique consumer and not like the masses

    Re: firefox library?

Perhaps tangential, but there's a version of iMacros which works with Firefox. I used to use it a few years ago. It uses plain text script files (.IIM), so possible in theory to write script files in VBA (or any other programming/automation platform which can create plain text files), then use command lines like firefox --new-tab imacros://run/?m="whatever.IIM" or in a new window. That'd be the Rube Goldberg approach.

from the CMD? it seems as though FF would have to be instanced first, no? that's what it looks like.

One of my friends has developed an ActiveX DLL for FireFox to use in VBA. You can use it like the IE object....

Is it something like you are looking for?

    Re: firefox library?

YEP! if it's got all the numbers in it to give dropdowns for firefox objects and all appropriate dependencies. handles included, although that's kind of irrelevant. that's what it does right? I would assume so. that's the def of a DLL.

I did not have the chance to use the DLL because of my old laptop but, you may check his blog to see what he has done ....

    Re: firefox library?

I will take a look, but a couple things are strange. first, there is no english option in the google translate dropdown opt's. ha ha ha. wonder why? and he's using some pretty decent freebies by goog:

    https://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/myfeeds

the installations are also on google drive. makes me wonder why....

    thanks.

    Re: firefox library?

There is an option for English, as seen in the below picture ..... and I don't understand what you mean in the rest of your post by referring to those links which are not accessible at least for me.

    Re: firefox library?

ahhhh, missed it! whops. what do you mean you can't access the links? does your country block them? or, rather, they are probably dynamic, based on the hash strings. but then again, the google theme should not be dynamic. that's google's content, identified appropriately by id strings. you can't open either of these? you need to log in to goog before the 2nd will show up though:

    Re: firefox library?

I wrote the library that Haluk is talking about. The "Installer / Uninstaller" download links are public. You only need to download the library source code (Visual Studio) and request access via Google Drive personally. Until now I have not refused anyone for source code.

By the way, I forgot to mention that the .Net Framework 4.5 needs to be installed on the page to be able to work.

    @ Zeki Gürsoy;

He is talking about irrelevant things, rather then exploring and using a FireFox component. It was my fault answering him....

4.8 is the newest, Zeki. It is for hosting companies, as well as the newest ver of VS. DEV VER 2019. I have it. that won't cause issues will it? I despise microsoft. thanks. I know your links are public. hinted at by the usp=sharing part of the URLs on your blog.

    Re: firefox library?

I thought you were trying to automate Firefox from VBA. You are aware that VBA can make Windows API calls which could check whether there was a firefox.exe process currently running? If not running, dispense with the --new-tab switch in the command run using VBA's Shell function.

If you don't know VBA could make Windows API calls, what are you trying to do?

    Re: firefox library?

I was a bit confused I think. been coding a heck of a lot. didn't even recognize the double dash as a CMD command switch. sorry about that. I have to research on this. it will be done in the future. thanks much. If I can't make it work, I will just use IE instances. i will follow up later with ya guys.
