    Copy with Column Widths

Why is this icon so buried in the Excel menus. I use this all the time and would make it one of the primary icons on the right click menu (maybe remove "paste link" or "transpose"). Individual icons for the Quick Access Toolbar would be nice too. Any other items that you would like to see unburied?

    Re: Copy with Column Widths

Sorry "Paste Special with Column Widths" so you don't need to readjust so it pastes everything (formulas/formatting) and the original column widths. I didn't know it existed for the longest time so was either going to the "Paste Special" window and clicking on the radio button for "Column Widths" (which just posts the column widths) and then pasting normal (CNTRL V) or after pasting, I would manually adjust column width.

Ah, OK - it's a shame we can't each choose our favourite five icons for that quick paste special set on the right-click menu. I use transpose a lot, so would not want that to go!

I agree Ali, we all have specific icons we use over and over. Modifying that right click menu would be great.

Word allows user to customise keyboard shortcuts, unfortunately this is not available in Excel.

Yes, we know that - we are just discussing what we would have on it if we could.

I'm pretty sure you can add that button to your QAT

    Re: Copy with Column Widths

I thought so too but when I looked for it, an icon for paste with widths (which, come to think of it should be the primary, i.e. CNTRL V paste method) is not there. I can (and have) added the dropdown Paste Special icon which is the closest to a direct shortcut.

    Re: Copy with Column Widths

Odd that it should be missing.
The one I found is called "Paste and Keep Source Column Widths"
I've also got the "Autofit Column Width" button on the QAT.

I sometimes use a global sheetchange event to autofit after pasting (part of an addin).
Works quite well except for occasions where you don't want it to autofit, hence blnAutoFitAfterPaste to turn it on or off.

    Re: Copy with Column Widths

Here's a screen shot of what's available for my QAT as a paste. I would expect that all of the icons under the Paste Special right click menu would be available as every user will have different needs.

For some stupid reason, in 365 you need to look under K for 'Keep source column widths'...

Wow, that explains a lot. These commands are listed under "keep..." That's very helpful. Thank you.
