Something wrong with search function in forom.

Tried to do a search on the term solver but got a most peculiar result. Could not post an image of result as screws up my posting.

Unfortunately there are various things with the site at the moment & people are trying to sort it all out.

Be interesting to know if this one is on the list of things to be fixed.

Maybe. Seeme to be the same or similar errors for different actions at different times. Two steps forward, one step back ? or vice versa.

Another thing I?ve noticed: I tend to use dot dot dot (three full stops) and that gets converted to a single character. That still happens but instead of showing . . . (no spaces), it shows up as a question mark ( ? ).

Must be something to do with the character set.

Sorry for the inconvenience - please be patient as the tech team works through these issues. We are in constant contact with them and they are resolving issues as fast as they can.

Re: Something wrong with search function in forom.

It seems it's possibel to get results when searching for a key word like "Solver".

Use the "Advance Search" fill in the key word and click the "Search now" button and most of the time I do get proper results. If not have another go at it.

Probably there may be additional parameters I don't know about like sacrificing a rooster at midnight but hopefully the tech team may have solved the problem before one has revert to these extreme solutions.

Another thing I'm missing is the English spell checker when writing post. I had it before and now it's gone, anybody knows how to get it back?

Re: Something wrong with search function in forom.

I saw an improvement in the search function today i.e. searching word like solver seems to bring up all the relevant thread but upon opening a thread there are no comments in the post nor uploaded files or images.

Perhaps the forum should include another comment in "Thread Tools" drop down like "Half Solved" or "Solved to --- %" and let the poster fill in the %.

Yes, I can replicate this weirdness, but it doesn't happen for all threads. I'll pass this to the tech team - we thought we'd solved it yesterday.
