I tried a quick search with no success and wondered if anyone can help.
I am a general user of Excel and really want to both improve my skills and gain a qualification in Excel.
Are there any courses you would recommend?

I would highly recommend hanging out here. I can't help with qualifications, but I can say that trying to solve issues here and reverse engineering solutions offered by other members has been the best way for me to learn (and the learning never stops). Hands on is by far the best way.

Thanks Ali
This place has been a life saver so many times and I have learnt so much from the help given to me and from reading through [SOLVED] threads.
I just wish I was good enough to provide help back to others.
I only look to gain a qualification to show I have some prowess in Excel; I agree that hands-on is definitely best as, like you, I am self taught.
Don't just read - do! Try solving - it will really get the juices flowing.
I agree with everything that Ali has said.
Why do you feel that you need a qualification?
Pete
Something to say that I am proficient would be nice however it is more about the learning

The Excel skills required will differ from job to job, which is why employers will test you if they feel they need to assess specific aspects of your knowledge. Here's what Indeed says about it: https://uk.indeed.com/career-advice/...ssessment-test
In terms of your CV: you know what you can do in Excel, so make a list of those things and see if there are any major gaps, then focus on filling them.
Broadly, an employer might be interested in the following (beyond basic Excel competence):
1. Your ability to work with data and analyse it. This may include using charts and other graphics.
2. Your competence with pivot tables.
3. Your ability to work with VBA (but for most jobs I think it umlikely to be a requirement).
