Closing my Account here....

AFAIK, we generally don't close accounts. Why do you want to close it? You can always just stop using it!!

Contact one of the admins (Ford Dibbins or Alan Sidman) to confirm.

As Glenn indicated. We do not close accounts. You can become inactive by just not using the account. All the data here is stored as a resource for others to seek information. A large Data Base of Excel information.

Closing/deleting accounts is unrelated to saving information in Forumthreads.
There's no reasonable ground not to delete an account on the subscriber's request.
Also here the 'right to oblivion' should be respected.

AFAIK in most forum engines if user is deleted, his/her posts remain in the forum database, but are visible as "guest" posts. And are non sercheable by username (but sercheable by title, content, etc.). So the "knowledge base" is preserved even if user is deleted.

Rather than closing an account, I have, in the past, randomized the user's ID.

Seems a better idea, otherwise all information and work is lost to other members
