I am an avid WOW player, I play on the Spanish servers though in Europe. I am trying to get to level 70 so that I can buy the new expansion which just beat all records for fastest selling game in history (2.8 million copies in 24 hours).

WOW ruins lives
Why so?
Not that I have anything to do with it personally (nor knew what it was until 5 minutes ago).
According to Wikipedia there are 11.5m subscribers which is a lot of lives to ruin.
Each to their own I suppose.

Yeah, the SouthPark makes me wet myslef laughing everytinme I watch it. I used to play WoW, but gave up after a short time as I thought it was rubbish. I have played Everquest for years, and gone through the all night play times, just to get that next bit of equipment etc. These games are surprisingly adictive, hence why EverQuest is known as EverCrack
Ways it ruins lives. Thankfully (though not for thise involved), I have only heard of these couple of extreme examples (not sure which games they were on)
1. A woman playes her game, has left the kids in the car. When she realised after a number of hours, she goes out and the kids have all suffocated in the heat
2. A man goes and kills his "friend" because he let his friend play his character, and they sold a top end sword he had
I play an old skool Multi User Dungeon (MUD) game now, all text based. Is excelent

no slight on OP but Withy thanks for the pointer to the SP episode... am presently watching this, and I love the SysAdmin's line of: "how does one kill that which has no life ?"
I don't do the RPG stuff at all but am guilty of wasting weeks of my life playing Championship Manager over here in the UK ... an American friend of mine could never quite understand how/why given (as he put it) "the game has only three screens!"

I play(meaning still) Everquest, I started in 1999 and haven't stopped. I have 7 accounts, 9 pcs and 1 5100$ alienware laptop, all mostly to support mine and my wifes "addiction" to evercrack. Sad I know.
