How do I add a link in my signature?

I assume this is allowed because the FAQ's say:

'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. This might include pictures, links to your site(s), quotes, etc.

However, when I try to add a link I get an error message:

BB code url is not allowed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There may be a restriction in place for your usergroup or your post count for posting links, if there's not then Martins suggestion is correct

Simon is correct, you need a number of posts before you can add a link to the signature.
