Why not just write:
and best not to use ThisCell as a variable name. Please Login or Register to view this content.

In this case iserror() can be read as isnothing()
Really? How many messages do you see with this?

I'm probably in the minority but I would like inheritance, would make extending controls easier
Methinks you'll have to wait for VBA.Net for that.
lol I think that too, is that even in the pipeline?
Would be good if they'd fix needing to know the printer port in Excel when printing too, that drives me nuts
Not that I am aware of, though even if I knew, I couldn't say.
As there are simple workarounds for the port issue, I can't see that changing.
haha fingers crossed then, but I can't see it happening
What's easiest workaround you've found? Right now I'm reading from the registry to get the list of printer ports and names.
That's what I do too (function with argument for printer name)
It's still somewhat annoying that you don't have to do this in Word VBA though
Not for me as I never use Word.
Neither do I if I can avoid it

That doesn't give you the NE01 type information though.
@snb, unfortunately that doesn't return the "NE01:" etc

I'd also like an easy way of running freehand SQL statements on a given range
Not hard to build as long as you don't mind memory leaks...
...hence the easy part, I want to do it in the workbook, not from another
I've never tested it, but perhaps DAO doesn't have the same memory leak issues as ADO?
hmm, interesting might be worth a check methinks.
Still a bit of a pain though writing the code though when I just want to query a dataset
Can't you use filters if the workbook is open?
Coincidentally, this bug just cropped up on a thread and, since everything was happening in the one workbook, I recommended the advanced filter as an alternative.
Interesting thought and quite possibly showing my ignorance, but I'm not sure how I'd do the below with a Filter - wouldn't it need an advanced filter as well?
I know there are 101 ways to do it, but 1 query would be nice

You can't do that with the advanced filter either because it is aggregating. You could do it with a pivot table though.
Advanced filter is a filter...
I'd use a pivot table for that.
Nice to see you back, BTW, Colin. How was Yorkshire?
Fabulous I've no doubt

Use code tags when posting your VBA code:
Your code here
Remember, saying thanks only takes a second or two. Click the little star to give some Rep if you think an answer deserves it.
I meant auto-filter , raises a question I have about pivot tables though, I'll post a new thread though rather than dragging this one out
Plus 1 to thatFabulous I've no doubt
Is your code running too slowly?
Does your workbook or database have a bunch of duplicate pieces of data?

Is 2 a majority now?
You're saying you wouldn't want inheritance rs? If so, why not?
Just curious why someone would turn down a feature.
I tallied up all the votes and found two in favor and zero against.
