    VBA in MS Project

    Morning All,

Sorry for posting this in the watercooler, but I think it's a fair way off topic.

I've put some code together to convert a Gantt chart in excel to MS project. However, Having little knowledge of project and its VBA, I am at a loss!

There is a requirement to convert a task into a milestone - does anyone know how I can achieve that in VBA, or even where I might find an answer to such a question?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Rule 1: Never merge cells
    Rule 2: See rule 1

Hi Sweep, have not worked with MS Project for a while, but why don't you just import the Excel data (dates, tasks, etc) into Project and let Project handle the Gantt view? That's what it's good at.

    Hi Teylyn,

    Long time no speak!

That's essentially what I'm doing. The excel gantt chart is simply coloured cells under a row of dates, with specific tasks in column A, under milestone "headings". It those that I'm trying to modify. It's easy enough to do it manually as the code does the majority of the work, but it would be nice to have it all at the push of a button!

I meant through the user interface. If the columns in Excel are labelled appropriately, you can just import the file.

Thanks - I'll use code to modify the excel file accordingly and then import into project.
