    Posting an Animated Avatar

So I know how to post an Avatar. Forum rules talk to animated avatars. I see some of the members have them, but i cannot figure out how to post one. Any tricks or suggestions. Do they need to be a special file type. Almost all I see that work on my PC are .gif files, but when I post it as an avatar on the forum it remains static. Your thoughts on this?

This is true Martin, but I think I have achieved the level required.

Once you have been registered for 60 days and posted 100 posts your user title will change from Registered User to Forum Contributor, you will be able to upload a non-animated avatar. When you get to 120 days registered and 200 posts, your title will change to Valued Forum Contributor and you will be able to upload an animated avatar.
So how did you get yours to work

    Re: Posting an Animated Avatar

Check the size of your animated .gif
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

    Marcol,
Still good on those issues. It is smaller than 5 KB

    Re: Posting an Animated Avatar

Okay, what are the dimensions in pixels?
If either dimension is greater than 50 the animated .gif will fail.
You will see the first frame of the file, but no animation.

    Re: Posting an Animated Avatar

Great answer. I now understand it. It is 80 x 80 Pixels. Need to find a smaller one or figure out how to make this one smaller. Any suggestions on decreasing the size?

Most of us probably should be adapting the same avatar.... very fitting!
