    Manage the Personal Subscriptions Folder

I've not yet figured out a good system. What do you do that works for you?

Re: Manage the Personal Subscriptions Folder

    Hi John,

I'm sure I don't know the magic solution either, but I have multiple separate folders with a title which may help me find the good nuggets.

Works for me, but quite honestly I get most of my stuff from the personal.xlsb (of course just for the macro side). As for the formula side, I use the folders as mentioned above or just wait to one of the "real" guru's bail's me out

    Regards, Jeff

    Hi Jeff
    I do something similar
I have multiple separate folders with a title
so I can find those "I did that before" items. It's that "Subscriptions" folder I've never been able to manage well.

Well if you are referring to just the "Subscriptions" folder, then I am in the same boat. It just collects and collects threads unless I move them to the sprecial folders.

Yeah...I've over 800 in that folder and, just yesterday, deleted at least that many.

Sometimes I think it would be nice if one could opt to delete all that are over x number of months old. I'm not sure that's such a good idea and that's why I posed the question. There's Members that have 10's of thousands of posts...they must have figured out a system that works for them.

Perhaps one of them will respond and we'll both benefit.

Re: Manage the Personal Subscriptions Folder

This was a question i wanted to ask ages ago but somehow thought i shouldnt.

If i am not wrong, there are some veterans here who just let them pile on. I say this because sometimes a newbie posts a question in a thread that is 3-4 yrs old and the veteran replies to it. So that means, they would have subscribed to all the threads they replied to.

As for me, i tried maintaining them by clearing out the "Solved" ones so that i could go to each unsolved one and try and solve the issue they are facing. But depending on the new threads you reply to everyday, the list just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I have not tried the folders option yet though.

Re: Manage the Personal Subscriptions Folder

    Hi Arlette

The Folders Option works for me particularly when I've explored new ground or ground that I don't use often. So, I've set up "Categories" (so to speak) as Folders to deposit those Threads.

It's that "Subscriptions" Folder that drives me nuts...don't know why I keep it...can't find anything in it for looking. Perhaps a delete anything over x months old is a viable alternative...don't know. Looking for approaches.

    Thanks for your input.
