    Mine has been altered too.

No PM telling or asking me

@Mods/Owner/tech team: When I asked to be removed as moderator I meant removed. Not demoted to an assitant. Please remove it.
    Cheers

    Re: New title

    Kyle, Ratcat, Andy,

We didnt want to differentiate between any forum guru in the forum. Hence, all forum gurus have their title changed to Assistant Forum Moderator. The only addition to their status is the canned message functionality. Everything else remains the same.

Andy, i will ask your name to be removed and be reverted to Forum Guru.

Thanks, although I don't fully understand your explanation.

    Re: New title

Why did they need changing in the first place?

Can you remove mine too please, though I'd like to keep the canned replies

    Re: New title

We had earlier formed a group called the Forum Veterans with a limited set of forum gurus. This group was put together to suggest improvements / changes to the forum for the betterment of all. One of the forum veterans suggested that they be given canned reply functionality. When one non-forum veteran saw that the forum veterans have the canned reply functionality, they were wondering why they were segregated. So it was decided to be fair to all and give all forum gurus the functionality. Thats how the status came up.

These Assistant Forum Moderators can then be selected as mods when required.

    Re: New title

Could I also make the suggestion that you revert everyone's status back to forum guru and remove the Assistant Forum Moderator line. This is very likely to irk people and will cause another round of aggro

    Re: New title

Please remove the bracketed title of "assistant forum moderator" from my profile. I have not been asked to be an assistant moderator and I don't want to be labeled as one. This forum's moderation is a farce and I do not want to taint my good reputation by being connected to it in a moderating role that I don't want and don't perform.

I wish you (Excelforum owners and administrators) would learn from the past and try to involve people BEFORE you make changes, especially when it concerns member classification and public labeling.

    Re: New title

Done. All titles have been reverted to Forum Guru as before.

The canned reply functionality still exists. If anyone does not want it, please let me know or email [email protected] and the tech team will action it.

While we are changing titles, Please change mine back to what it was originally. "Valued Forum Awesome Guy".
Be fore warned, I regularly post drunk. So don't take offence (too much) to what I say.
    I am the real 'Napster'
The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Ships? motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day...
