How can you bump an old thread to the top of the list?

Hello,

I posted a thread (Thread: Sort function does not correctly reference the answer from the input box) a few days ago. I was receiving some good feed back and I felt we were on our way to solving my issue when the other forum members stopped replying. Sometimes it is difficult to properly communicate the questions and needs that "young" VBA users have (like myself). So I can understand if members do not want to continue to help.

In any event my question is, how can you bump an older thread to the top of the list so a fresh set of eyes can examine an issue without having to post a new thread?

Also, what is a good way of telling a fellow member that you do not understand how to use or apply their suggestion. My ultimate goal is to learn from the use of the forum and to apply suggestions to my code. But concerning the above thread, I was unable to apply what others had suggested to fix my probelm.

Any suggestions would be great!!!

If you just add a new post to that thread it will automatically jump to the top of the list, until it is replaced by other later posts. Some contributors might be put off by seeing that a thread has already had several replies, concluding that someone else will be helping, and might therefore not read your thread. In this case you might like to start a new thread and provide a link back to the previous one - to do this, select the previous thread, highlight the contents of the address bar in your browser and CTRL-C, then start your new thread and where appropriate in the text do CTRL-V to paste the address in.

We are all here to help others, so if you don't understand anything then just say so.

Thought I would let everyone know that starting a new thread and posting a link back to an old unanswered thread is against the forum rules...

What I see in Pete's reply to you is,

It appears you did not try this at first; rather, you created what we as moderators saw as duplicate posts.
