Red vs grey envelopes... What does it mean?

I can't be the only person who doesn't understand this... I've notice red and grey envelopes in front of forum posts without any discernible reason for their differences. I've also seen a new one in this "The Water Cooler" forum; red with a grey diagonal slash and a lock emblem. I could assume that this one has something to do with posting permissions or such, but I don't like to assume... Perhaps some forum guru can further my knowledge of these 3 meanings?

I am assuming you are talking about the subforum view where you see the list of all threads.

Well, the red envelope is when a thread has a high number of views, there is a number fixed in the system for the number of views. I am not sure what this number is, but when the thread crosses that, it shows a red envelope.

The grey envelope is for all threads which are being created and which have not crossed the "high" number of views.

The grey diagonal slash and a lock emblem shows that the thread has been locked by a moderator / admin and no user can post in that thread. It could be locked for several reasons, like its a duplicate thread or if its against any of the other rules of the forum.

Interesting. I see it there, but when I look at the new posts link here: http://www.excelforum.com/search.php...st&exclude=161 , it doesn't exist...

You wont find them in all the screens.
