What's prompted this?
Do you need to increase your rep points or post count?
Or are you not comfortable with offering guidance to the OP to mark their thread solved and/or common courtesy in thanking someone. Ah, forgot, you're a Londoner

oh you and your strange northern ways!

Yeah, what's wrong with being a Londoner?
Cor blimey, strike a light, innit.
@swoop99: I think you answered your own question
Greater London Authority puts the population of London metropolitan region at 21 million.
Greater Manchester is a metropolitan county in North West England, with a population of 2.7 million
so about a third of the uk live in and around london nuff said
That's a good thing?
If posting code please use code tags, see here.
yep! the more the merrier
hmmmm you could be on the right track there
Ahem. In mybest singing voice....which isn't very good:
Come home from t'work, go straight down t'pub and get absolutely plastered.
Come home from t'pub and beat up t'wife cos I'm a big fat northern b******.
ay chuckie chuckie.
OK this is now officially a "North/South divide"
I have a foot in both camps. I work in London and lived there for many years......but I was born in what is now Greater Manchester...
So it became Greater after you left?

@DLL,
I confess I'm surprised - do they make cider up there then?
do they make cider up there then?
As it turns out, there are several cider makers in Cheshire
Nook's Yard Perry
“Cheshire Perry”
Available in 500ml bottles only
Alc 6.3% vol (typical)
As far as we know, the only perry made in Cheshire from local pears.
This is a traditional perry, so don’t expect it to taste like commercially produced, sweetened, fizzy “pear ciders”. Its overall flavour is more akin to traditional ciders with soft tannins and lower acidity. While most of the sugars have fermented to alcohol, pears contain traces of non-fermentable sugars. These give the perry a medium level of sweetness, with the lack of acidity often highlighting this.
As with most traditional perries, this one's slightly cloudy - but then it usually is in Cheshire!
well there's a plus for them up north but then again
then again i had some of this, well more than some at the Battersea beer festival
Double Vision Impeared Vision Perry
Type Perry
ABV 7.4% made in kent
Last edited by martindwilson; 03-04-2014 at 10:53 AM.
Perry?
No, no no! Give me scrumpy any day!
well i drink this too
Black Dragon
Gwynt y Ddraig
Type Cider
ABV 7.2%
Matured in oak barrels to produce a cider rich in colour, body and flavour with a fresh fruity aroma.
Now you're talking, Martin. How much of that had you drunk when you started this thread?
ah that would be telling
I'm Half Irish, Half Viking. I live almost north (Darlington).
I like rep, I hate begging.
What should I do, thankyouplease?!

Walking the tightrope between genius and eejit...
Now on my 6th guiness oh i forgot the
4 pints of real ale still a hour or two to go
yep 4 more Guinness plus 4 sambuca shots ..oh it's so hard being retired
now officially pissed
lol
The board definitely needs a 'like' button.
@swoop, no "like" button please, the whole bloody world is starting to look like facebook
Oooops... apologies for the language..
All... A good water cooler conversation indeed, a bit of humour and a bit of "P***" taking in the very best of traditions we all enjoy.
And... @martin.... 10 pints of Guinness is at the very outside limits of my capacity... how could you also then put away 4 shots of anything????? (although I dimly remember one night nearly 40 years ago when after multiple pints of Fosters [yuk now] I put away a challenger with a couple of Pernod shots so maybe we are Bro's)

(and yes the 1947 is for a reason sadly )

The funny thing is, with Guiness I can only get to around 4 pints.
With Scotch.....I can get to around 4 pints.
@swoop, we should check our birth certificates as we seem to joined at the hip (and I do prefer Murphy's Irish in most pubs to Guinness, sadly we don't get Murphy's down here
Man, you are in trouble when I get to London next

What is it with the Poms and Yanks, always going on about the North vs South?
Maybe everybody in both those regions should just move West and East, so that I can choose to relocate to either North or South, in any of those Countries.

@ Winnon, I guess you took that pic for your avatar on teh way back from getting your RWC? And if I were you, I wouldnt want to move north anyway...Ptown???????
Wow, thanks xladept, wanna come along, away from the North or South?
@ FDibbins,
Hi Ford,
Really nice to hear from you again as well!
Correction, I had to buy(Bribe) the damn RWC with those wobbly wheels.
Yeah, I agree. Wouldn't want to move North, but then again, going South ends pretty quick at the ocean, and without a boat, what then? Guess that is why you opted your way out of this place by Plane. Don't blame you at all!
Take care, and please do stay in touch.
Kind Regards.

@ Winnon, at least it's not a taxi with vice-grips in place ** a steering wheel (and yes, I have actually seen that, in a taxi doing 80 kph!!!)
If you go just a bit south, you could end up in PE - my old stamping grounds
