circular reference

hi guys. im new here an i wonder if you can help me with my formula. I was getting it to wo work for a about 2 weeks,,then suddenly i just got an error saying it has a circular refernce. Can somebody help me figure it out?


=IF(I4<>"",IF(I5="",NOW(),I5),"")

the purpose of this formula is when i enter a value on I4 , I5 should have a time stamp
if I4 is blank (when contents are clear, I5 should be empty

i am using this sheet for my employees and got it to work i dont know why i suddenly got an error. i have saved the original workbook on my email, when i use it i works fine, but when i open them both both of them dont work..it look like it it infected the other one.
