    Excel Generic Bulk Mailer

I've been kicking this technology around for about a decade. The attached application is designed to send out a bulk email by filling in a table and clicking a button. The only requirement is to enable the macro. It can be copied and modified to suit whatever bulk mail you might have. It is as generic as I can make it at the cost of some data validation.
    Attached Files Attached Files
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

I have to admit that I am TOTALLY against any sort of bulk email programs. We get enough crap emails as it is, without this forum helping to generate more!

    Re: Excel Generic Bulk Mailer

There is a valid reason for the development of this program. In my job we have over 150 suppliers to whom we have to send reports every week. It used to take each buyer about 8 hours a week to do it manually. It now takes them about 5 minutes. What's more, the program is designed to be run by another buyer to cover them in their absence.

The version I use at work is a bit more customized in that the suppliers get a three-tab spreadsheet specifically designed for them and the subject and body of the email is customized for them.

I also get called upon to do ad-hoc mailings such as warning our suppliers of a spoofed email sent in the company's name and sending out notices on terms and conditions, privacy notices and such.

I can imagine other companies have similar requirements to mass mail employees, customers, suppliers and other people that they do business with.

A true spammer is going to buy a package that is much more efficient than the one I wrote.

Valid reasons can be made for any program/process - I am still...and always will be...against this sort of thing.

Make sure your data source has a column for email addresses and that there's an email address for everyone you're sending email to. And follow these following steps

1- Go to Mailings > Select Recipients.
2- Choose a data source. For more info, see Data sources you can use for a mail merge.
    3- Choose File > Save.

The application I use this for is as a mailer to send weekly "report cards" to our suppliers. I have a table with a list of buyers, suppliers and the supplier email addresses. I do check for the existence of an email address before attempting to mail the report out.

@Victoriaviolet This is in the Tips forum. It is not a question, it is an example solution. Your post is only vaguely related to the topic. Repeated posts like this will earn infractions or a ban.
