Any Excel freaks here? Then you'll probably hate the gray cell borders that appear by default when you start a new workbook. It took me a while to get rid of those lines for good, so I'd like to share the method with you.

First to clarify terminology, you are talking about gridlines, not borders. This method applies a white fill to all cells in the sheet. Excel does not show the gridlines for cells with fill color, so you are forcing Excel to suppress the gridlines. This is not exactly the same thing as removing the gridlines because white fill is not the same thing as no fill; if you clear the fill later the gridlines are right back again.

The easiest way to remove the gridlines is go to View in the Ribbon and uncheck Gridlines.
