simple formula help! maybe an if statement?

Hello excel gurus, I need help with a formula:
I need to keep an eight day running total. I need to sum the previous eight entries from column A in column B, now here are the conditions - if column A entry =0 then this is a reset and column B =0, if in the last eight entries there is a 0, sum back to 0 in column B.

I'm sure this is simple for you excel gurus, my mind stopped functioning!
    Thanks in advance.

sorry thought I did use a proper title,
I added to that might be an if statement. I hope that makes it more clear. I'm sure there are 100 ways to do what I'm trying to achieve, so I did not want to be too specific

    Hi See, and welcome.

A proper title - per the forum rules - describes your issue, not the expected solution or specific function (unless a function your using stopped working or is generating errors, of course). In this case, something like "Calculate a running total" would be sufficient.

Secondly, this is not a question sub-forum. It is only for "Tips & Tutorials" as the sub-forum title implies. Please read the full forum rules (link in my signature below) and then post your question in a relevant sub-forum (e.g. Worksheet Functions).

    Thank you.
