Content Control Dropdown - Master to use in MULTIPLE Word documents?

I have a series of Word Documents I am trying to create which require similar information & I wanted to use a Content Control Drop Down.
Can you create a Master that can be saved and used in multiple Word documents?

I have about 7 Masters - some which have about 40 options, so don't want to have to create over & over again.
Also thinking about the future - if they could be updated in one area & then update throughout the series of documents.

I'm a lot rusty on Word so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Sure. Do you want that in a Word document, or Excel?

    I think that's doable.

Here's a website that I use when dealing with content controls.

In Word, you'd use a Document Template, not a Master Document. You'd add all the features you'd need in any of these document to the template. Then, whenever you create a new document from the template, they're all there, ready for use.
