    Spellcheck Warning Lines

    1) I see red and blue (or green I don't remember the color) lines on some words on my text in MS Word 2010. What do those mean?

    2) If you write a multilanguage text, for example you write in Turkish but you also use English words from time to time how do you apply spellcheck?

A wavy red underline indicates that the word is not found in the spell-check dictionary and is a possible spelling error.
A wavy blue underline indicates that the word may not fit the context (e.g. you typed 'them' instead of 'the'), even though it is grammatically correct.
A wavy green underline indicates that the word/phrase/sentence is grammatically suspect.

When working with multiple languages, Word allows you to assign the language applicable to each portion of the text. This is often done via the use of a character Style. For example, if the document is mainly Turkish, you may define a character Style 'English', for which you set the proofing language to English, then apply that Style to whatever portions of your text are meant to be in English.

The links tell you how to create your own Style. Part of a Style's attributes includes the proofing language. All you need do is create a character Style whose proofing language is set to English. End of story.
