    Making a custom print size/label

At work we run through a lot of Fingerprint Cards, FD-258, with new hires and as a result of these boxes being so tiny and people's penmanship being so terrible, the cards are being rejected. Want to find a way that we can run one of these cards through a printer and print the information.

I know there are digital versions, but they have to be on the actual cards. I can't find a digital version to show, but i can find the images for purchasing them, like at amazon.com/Fingerprint-Cards-Applicant-FD-258-cards/dp/B00AX3LCO2

    Is this do able?

To produce something like that, could use an ordinary letter merge, for which you'd need to create a mailmerge main document with am 8in*8in table formatted precisely as per the FD-258 layout. You could then connect that to a datasource (e.g. a database or an Excel workbook) and insert mergefields into the table, corresponding to the relevant field names in the datasource. Executing (or even previewing) the merge would then generate the FD-258 cards, which you'd then print and onto which you'd add the fingerprints.

Unless you can source 8in*8in stationery and have access to a printer that can print all the way to the paper edges (e.g. a photo printer), you may need to trim the printed output somewhere along the line.

    I did it!

Issue I am having now is that if I go into my spreadsheet and have 50 rows, the next time I erase all those and re-enter data, my word will still preview/print 50 recipients, even though those rows are absolutely blank. It will always update automatically when opening if the spreadsheet list increased, but never decreased. How do I do that?

OK, so I have to DELETE the ROW, not just erase the cells. Weird.

Erasing the rows doesn't change the fact that Excel continues to regard them as being in-use; you need to actually delete the unwanted rows.
