Progressive [page] numbering in word documents already created

I hope to explain.
I have 14 word documents already created, total 18 pages:

1 with 1 page
2 with 1 page
3 with 1 page
5 with 2 pages
6 with 3 pages
7 with 1 page
8 with 1 page
9 with 2 pages
10 with 1 page
11 with 1 page
12 with 1 page
13 with 2 pages
14 with 1 pages

I must add a progressive numbering from the # 1 to the # 14 sheet and must become:

1 with 1 page = pag.1 di pag.18
2 with 1 page = pag.2 di pag.18
3 with 1 page = pag.3 di pag.18
5 with 2 pages = pag.4 di pag.18 / = pag.5 di pag.18
6 with 3 pages = pag.6 di pag.18 / = pag.7 di pag.18 / = pag.8 di pag.18 /
7 with 1 page = pag.9 di pag.18
8 with 1 page = pag.10 di pag.18
9 with 2 pages = pag.11 di pag.18 / = pag.12 di pag.18 /
10 with 1 page = pag.13 di pag.18
11 with 1 page = pag.14 di pag.18
12 with 1 page = pag.15 di pag.18
13 with 2 pages = pag.16 di pag.18 / = pag.17 di pag.18 /

Is there a word function or do you have to do it manually?

I have never done this but you can create a master document with links to the subdocuments. Then I think you can manage the page numbers how you want. Please see the following link for instructions:

Word's master document 'feature' is unreliable and is only suitable for those who like to destroy their work. See: http://www.addbalance.com/word/masterdocuments.htm
A web search will turn up plenty of links to threads where people have had documents destroyed by this 'feature'.

The desired result, without the risk of document corruption, can be had via the use of INCLUDETEXT fields in another document that consolidates all the source documents. See: http://wordmvp.com/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/...textfields.htm
